Over a decade later, Maria is still spreading her joy for the animals and her passion is infectious.
Maria’s background with horses is extensive. Growing up riding since she was big enough to walk, she worked on her family farm and began teaching lessons at the age of 18. She also competed on the National Modern Pentathlon team from 1986 to 1996 where she won numerous awards and medals on the international stage. Throughout her time with EEF, Maria has seen incredible transformations in children due to the influence of the horses and continues to be amazed by the power the animals have to soothe and cure her riders. Maria lives in New Jersey with her husband and daughter.
